Meeting Point – Inca Statue
Meet your local guide in the center of Plaza de Armas, near the Inca statue. Begin with a brief introduction to Cusco’s Inca heritage and the ancient city’s symbolic connection to the shape of a puma.
Taxi Ride to Qenqo
Take a short taxi ride of approximately 15 minutes from the historic center to the Qenqo area. The taxi costs approximately S/ 8 per person, paid separately.
Temple of the Moon – Ancient Caves and Andean Spirituality
Hike through the hills surrounding Cusco to discover the Moon Temple, a fascinating natural and archaeological site associated with Andean spirituality. Explore ancient caves, unusual rock formations, and carved or naturally shaped figures resembling a puma, snakes, a condor, an alpaca, and other geometric forms, while learning about Andean traditions and the spiritual connection between nature and sacred places.
Monkey Temple and Original Inca Trail
Continue along an ancient Inca trail toward the Monkey Temple. Discover distinctive rock formations with carved or naturally shaped figures resembling snakes, monkeys, a heart, and a jaguar. Learn about the area’s natural features, animal symbolism, and spiritual interpretations while exploring the fascinating connection between Andean culture and nature.
San Blas Viewpoint and Return
Follow the trail downhill toward San Blas, one of Cusco’s most traditional neighborhoods. Enjoy scenic views of the city from a viewpoint before returning to the historic center.

Meet us in front of the Inca Statue in the center of Plaza de Armas, Cusco.
Look for José Martínez (Cusco Guide), who personally leads the tour in English and wears a red “Free Walking Tour Cusco” T-shirt. Please arrive on time, as the tour starts promptly at the scheduled departure time. We allow a maximum grace period of 5 minutes after departure.
Wear comfortable walking shoes, as the terrain is uneven. Bring water, sun protection, and a light layer. Cusco’s weather can change quickly, so be prepared for both sunshine and rain. The rainy season typically runs from November to March, so a rain jacket or poncho is especially recommended during these months.
