Discover the Sacred Path of the Incas

As an authorized tour guide with over 10 years of experience and more than 300 successful treks to Machu Picchu, I’ve explored Cusco’s ancient trails like few others. I was one of the creators of the original Free Walking Tour Cusco, and now, I’m offering a new and unique walking experience—perfect for acclimatization and discovering the mystical side of the Inca world.

This tour takes you through sacred sites where the Incas performed rituals and ceremonies, following a scenic downhill path into the heart of Cusco.

Itinerary: Walking the Path of the Inca Mystics
1. Transport to Qenqo (5 soles/15-Minute Ride)

We begin at Plaza de Armas, where we take a local transport to the Qenqo area.

2. Qenqo – A Sacred Site (3,580m / 11,745ft) (Seen from Above, No Ticket Needed)

At Qenqo, we view the site from above, learning about its significance as a ceremonial center used for rituals and astronomy. We won’t enter the natural cave, but I’ll explain its history, functions, and spiritual importance in Inca times.

3. Moon Temple – A Portal to the Spiritual World (3,650m / 11,975ft)

A 20-minute gentle uphill walk brings us to the Temple of the Moon, a hidden sanctuary still used by shamans for offerings, spiritual ceremonies, and energy rituals. Here, we discuss Andean cosmology, feminine energy, and sacred connections with nature.

4. Monkey Temple – A Forgotten Sanctuary (3,630m / 11,909ft)

We continue downhill to the Monkey Temple, where ancient stone carvings reveal the Incas’ deep spiritual bond with animals. This site, unknown to many visitors, holds mysteries that we’ll explore together.

5. San Blas Mirador – The Best View of Cusco (3,450m / 11,319ft)

Descending further, we reach the San Blas viewpoint, offering a stunning panoramic view of Cusco. This is a perfect spot to understand the city’s Inca layout and its transformation over time.

6. Plaza de Armas – The Heart of the Inca Capital (3,399m / 11,152ft)
